Koji Ishida
Chair of the Board and Chief Executive Officer

Koji Ishida is Chair of the Board and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Executive Officer’s Committee of Sumitomo Pharma America Holdings, Inc. (SMPA). Mr. Ishida leads SMPA in supporting affiliates of Sumitomo Pharma Group by providing professional shared services expertise to achieve greater efficiencies and enable discovery, development and commercialization of innovative treatments to help patients.

Previously, Mr. Ishida served as Director, Accounting for Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. and served as a senior leader in the global accounting function of the group. He has close to thirty years of pharmaceutical industry accounting and taxation experience in the United States and Japan. Throughout his career, he has leveraged his financial strategy expertise to contribute to several successful M&A and business development opportunities.

Mr. Ishida earned his Bachelor of Economics at Osaka Prefecture University in Osaka, Japan and his Master of Business Administration at Kwansei Gakuin University in Hyogo, Japan. Additionally, he is a certified public accountant in the United States.

Linda Arsenault
Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

Linda Arsenault is Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and a member of the Executive Officer’s Committee of Sumitomo Pharma America Holdings, Inc. (SMPA), which supports certain affiliates of the Sumitomo Pharma Group by providing professional shared services expertise to achieve greater efficiencies and enable discovery, development and commercialization of innovative treatments to help patients. Ms. Arsenault is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc., an affiliate of SMPA and Sumitomo Pharma Group company.

Ms. Arsenault defines and implements Human Resources (HR) strategies tied to organizational performance. She oversees all aspects of HR: Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Organization & Leadership Development, HR Business Partners and Diversity & Inclusion, as well as Facilities/Corporate Services and Travel/Meeting Planning. Ms. Arsenault has spearheaded Leadership Development and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives focused on advancing the culture, enhancing employee experience and bringing greater impact to the organization and value to its stakeholders.

Ms. Arsenault joined Sunovion in 2010 and has more than 20 years of HR leadership experience across the biopharmaceutical, health care and technology industries. Prior to Sunovion, she served in HR leadership roles at Genzyme, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and Hewlett-Packard.

Ms. Arsenault holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Lesley University and a Master of Education degree from Boston University.

Gregory M. Bokar
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Greg Bokar is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and a member of the Executive Officer’s Committee of Sumitomo Pharma America Holdings, Inc. (SMPA), which supports certain affiliates of the Sumitomo Pharma Group by providing professional shared services expertise to achieve greater efficiencies and enable discovery, development and commercialization of innovative treatments to help patients.

Mr. Bokar is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc., an affiliate of SMPA and Sumitomo Pharma Group company. Mr. Bokar provides leadership for all aspects of the Legal Affairs, Compliance and Internal Audit and Risk Management functions for the organization.

Mr. Bokar has significant domestic and international legal experience in transactions, corporate matters, commercial, regulatory, governance, intellectual property, litigation, HR, insurance, compliance and M&A both inside and outside the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Previously Mr. Bokar served as Chief Legal Officer for Elan Pharmaceuticals LLC U.S., where he provided legal counsel for Elan’s global biopharmaceutical business and managed both a domestic and international legal team. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bokar worked as a Director for aaiPharma Inc., as a Senior Attorney with Argonne National Laboratories in Argonne, IL and as Associate Counsel with the U.S. Navy in China Lake, CA.

Mr. Bokar holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry, an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University and a J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. A licensed attorney in three states and the District of Columbia, he also is a registered patent lawyer, licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Stephen Freeman
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Stephen Freeman is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer and a member of the Executive Officer’s Committee of Sumitomo Pharma America Holdings, Inc. (SMPA), which supports certain affiliates of the Sumitomo Pharma Group by providing professional shared services expertise to achieve greater efficiencies and enable discovery, development and commercialization of innovative treatments to help patients.

Mr. Freeman is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc., an affiliate of SMPA and Sumitomo Pharma Group company. Mr. Freeman provides executive leadership for all accounting, financial strategy, reporting, planning and analysis, IT, procurement, tax and treasury functions for the organization. He has served in a number of senior leadership roles at Sunovion including Corporate Controller.

Mr. Freeman has participated in several key initiatives and business development transactions for the Company; most notably, he helped navigate the acquisition of Sepracor by Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. in 2009 and the subsequent merger of Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd.'s original U.S. subsidiary and Sepracor to form Sunovion in 2010.

Prior to joining Sunovion, Mr. Freeman served as the Corporate Controller for Firepond, a software firm. He began his career with Ernst & Young LLP in Boston, MA. Mr. Freeman holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Worcester State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Clark University.
